The SOS to Encode! Series is a research based, intensive encoding program. The series utilizes a scaffolded phonics structure in conjunction with a modified Simultaneous Oral Spelling technique. The program employs Placement tests to determine exact instruction needed for students and groups, Three levels of intensity and rates of instruction, Ongoing progress monitoring, Multisensory phonics and encoding strategies, Developmentally scaffolded lessons, Pre-Made Lesson Plans, Instructional framework (Scope and Sequence) and a consistent lesson structure.
This program uses The “COPS” self-monitoring strategy, Decoding strategies, Encoding strategies (e.g. Finger tapping phonemes, Table smacking syllables, Table pounding words in sentences, Spelling Aloud, Simultaneous Oral Spelling, etc.).
